Who We Are

The Troops Project began in 2005 when Marlene Summers spoke to a young man just before he was about to be deployed to Iraq. She thought about what she could do to support the troops while they were so far away from home. Realizing she owned a chocolate chip cookie company – why not send chocolate chip cookies to the troops. The Troops Project is recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit project.

Our Mission

As a non-profit organization, our goal is to let those who serve this great nation know we honor their commitment and remain appreciative for their unselfish sacrifice. Our mission is to share a “Hug” with all of our troops by sending giant gourmet chocolate chip cookies. The “Chocolate Chip Hugs” we share represent something much larger than just satisfying one’s sweet tooth. It is our way of thanking the brave heroes who serve and protect a grateful nation.
